Auditions details for Guys and Dolls

Guys and Dolls   Audition Notice (Recently concluded)
North Shore Players

North Shore Players is proud to be casting for a new production of Guys and Dolls, the recipient of the Tony Award for Best Musical and Pulitzer Prize for Drama (1951). Based on the short stories of Damon Runyon, Guys and Dolls tells the story of a group of lovable gamblers trying to plan an underground crap game while avoiding the local police. To get money for the game, Nathan Detroit bets Sky Masterson that Sky cannot get a date with the leader of the local Salvation Army mission, Sarah Brown. At the same time, Nathan’s girlfriend Adelaide does her best to try to get him to marry her. With an amusing script and lively, memorable songs, Guys and Dolls is an American theater classic.

Curtain Call Spring 2021

CURTAIN CALL

By

Matthew Garlin

When a first-time playwright is given the chance to have her first play produced professionally, she finds that rehearsals take a left turn when a director, who is too reliant on spectacle in theater, decides to add additional elements to make the show more commercial. It’s up to the producer to try to keep the peace between the playwright and the director, as well as the three actors who are having personal relationship problems of their own.

The play is written in a fast rhythmic manner in the style of David Mamet or Aaron Sorkin.
